    Kathryn Gilliam is a published author, consultant, international speaker, and oral wellness practitioner with 35 years’ experience as a dental hygienist. Kathryn’s interest in the medical side of dentistry led her to years of advanced study into the oral-systemic links. She has published multiple articles and continuing education courses.

    Amber Auger is a practicing dental hygienist and clinical innovations implementation specialist. With over 17 years of experience in the dental industry, Amber provides practical protocols for technology implementation, refocuses on the patient experience, and utilizes systemic approaches to Periodontal Therapy.

    Trisha O’Hehir, RDH, BS

    Trisha has five decades as a dental hygienist and held faculty positions at four different universities. Over her career, she’s written hundreds of articles bridging the gap between research and clinical practice. Nine years ago Trisha, and colleagues created online O’Hehir University for certificate and associate degree dental hygienists to complete their BS Degree in six months.

    Katrina Sanders, RDH, BSDH, M.Ed, RF

    A clinical dental hygienist, author and international speaker, Katrina is the Clinical Liaison, Hygiene Excellence and Innovation for AZ Perio, the country’s largest periodontal practice. She works alongside Diplomates to the American Board of Periodontology to instruct on collaborative professionalism and standard of care protocols while delivering education through hygiene boot camps and study clubs.

  • Gregori M. Kurtzman, DDS

    Dr. Kurtzman has been recognized as one of the top 100 Dental Lecturers by Dentistry Today magazine and has published 800+ journal articles in peer reviewed publications. He is currently on the Editorial Board of several prominent dental publications, and has served on the faculty in the department of Endodontics, Prosthetics and Operative at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He is author of articles concerning the use of ClōSYS as a pre-rinse and in home oral care during the pandemic, as well as the role ClōSYS can play in reducing oral biofilms.

    Sonya is a U.S. Navy Veteran also known as the Geriatric Toothfairy, is an oral health educator on a mission to reduce the health risks diseases and morbidity among seniors due to poor oral health. She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 30 years, Sonya is the owner of Mobile Dental Xpress that provides comprehensive dental care to qualified nursing home residents.

    Joy Raskie has been practicing as a Registered Dental Hygienist since 2003. Joy has a passion for lasers with a fellowship, associate fellowship and an advanced proficiency in laser dentistry. Joy conducts lecturers, live and online laser training courses and in-office laser consulting.

    Sherri Lukes has been a dental hygienist for 40 years, holding advanced degrees in education. She is associate professor emerita, Southern Illinois University, where she taught general and oral pathology, public health, multicultural dental hygiene, and advanced periodontics clinic. She holds a pathology fellowship in the American Academy of Dental Hygiene.

    Kris Potts has 40+ years in dentistry, during which time was a member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, the American Academy of Dental Hygiene, and the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health. Additional certifications are in Caries Management, Sleep Care Coordination and Oncology Care. As a Key Opinion Leader in the dental industry Kris provides resources, product information, education and coaching services.

    Debbie Zafiropoulos, or Debbie Z, is the CEO of the OralED Institute, a partner with Delta Force Group Consulting and also serves as the Partner in Education for the Wellness Dentistry Network. Debbie is a well-respected and sought-after Key Opinion Leader and is constantly delivering the message of forward motion in education and implementation.

    Sarah Clark, RDH, IPDH has a passion for advocacy, went from volunteer for the Maine Dental Hygienists’ Association to holding various roles including President, through 2021, until relocating to North Carolina. Sarah currently holds many roles in dentistry including Clinical Advisor for Wally Health, Inc., Student Success Coordinator for StudentRDH, Adjunct Clinical faculty at Coastal Carolina Community College, and co-owner of UpScale Education LLC. Sarah presents continuing education programs and has published articles in various publications.

    Dr. Stacey Layman is featured in national TV commercials advocating the use of ClōSYS oral care products in home oral care. Her Glendale, AZ practice has provided general dentistry, but Dr. Layman is now limiting her work to treating sleep apnea. Dr. Layman lectures nationally on how dentists effectively treat sleep apnea and xerostomia. Dr. Layman received her DDS from Baylor College of Dentistry.

    Dental Hygiene Spark, LLC sets out to educate and empower dental hygienists through social media. As a part of our mission to educate professionals, Dental Hygiene Spark Study Club was formed by co-founders Amber Lovatos, RDH, BSDH, MAADH and An Chih “Angela” Do, RDH, MEd, MAADH.
    Amber and Angela are national speakers and created the first dental focused human trafficking course that meets the Texas requirement for licensure and renewal. With backgrounds in community dental health and pediatric care, they also educate professionals on a range of diverse topics applicable to clinical care.

  • Dr. Sam Shamardi, DMD

    Dr. Sam Shamardi is an established educator, clinician, author and dental entrepreneur. He has a passion for providing solutions to significant unaddressed problems for dental professionals via educational programs and his faculty position at Harvard. Dr. Shamardi earned his DMD at Tufts University, and his Periodontal certificate at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Surgery and practices full-time in Boston while teaching part-time at the Harvard Division of Periodontics for over a decade. Dr. Shamardi lectures nationally and internationally on: periodontics/hygiene, hearing loss in dentistry, and innovations in dentistry.

    Tara Fournier has been a practicing Registered Dental Hygienist since 2002. She also holds certifications as a Mind Body Wellness Practitioner, Health Coach, and Transformational Life Coach, and is a member of IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology). Tara's passions are speaking on topics that include oral-systemic link education as it relates to nutrition and lifestyle, occupational wellness, and awakening dentistry to its highest potential for practices, patients, and profits through mentorship and leadership coaching.

    Jill Meyer-Lippert has worked in dentistry for 30 years with over 25 years as a clinical Dental Hygienist. She is the founder of Side Effect Support, an online resource for cancer patients, family caregivers, and healthcare providers to reduce harmful oral side effects of treatments, improving quality of life and treatment outcomes. Jill is a 2014 recipient of the Sunstar Americas/RDH Award of Distinction, holds a certificate in Oncology Management, and provides educational and community relations services with Custom Dental Solutions as their Community Relations Manager. She is a member of the Registered Dental Hygienist Advisory Board for the Oral Cancer Foundation, Teethcloud Thought Leaders, and was named as one of the “6 Dental Hygienists You Want to Know” by Dimensions of Dental Hygiene magazine.

  • Dr. Alisa G. Kauffman, DMD

    Dr. Alisa G. Kauffman received her B.A. degree from Lehigh University and a D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Since 1995 she has limited her practice to Geriatric House Call Dentistry. In 2010 at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, Dr. Kauffman created the geriatric dental curriculum within a unique day program designed to keep the elderly population in their own residences. Dr. Kauffman also serves as the Dental Director at two skilled nursing facilities and services most assisted living facilities in Manhattan. Most recently Dr. Kauffman wrote two books. How to Become a Housecall Dentist & The Tooth and Nothing But the Truth is a caregivers guide to oral care for the elderly. Her network, Geriatric House Call Dentistry is now on its way to becoming a nationwide network of likeminded, independent practice providers and includes affiliates that make her services unique.

    Dr. Joy D. Void-Holmes is a registered dental hygienist with over 25 years of clinical experience. She holds a Master of Health Science with a concentration in Forensic Investigative Science and Doctor of Health Science degree from Nova Southeastern University. She is founder of Dr. Joy, RDH™, co-founder of JELL-ED. Dr. Joy has presented continuing education courses nationally and internationally. She serves as a Consultant Examiner for the CDCA-WREB examining board, board member for the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners and is on the editorial advisory board for Inside Dental Hygiene and clinical advisory board for vTail. Dr. Joy is an active member of the American Academy of Dental Hygiene, American Dental Hygienists’ Association, and the Maryland Dental Action Coalition.
